• AnneMarie asks if we should defrost our refrigerators in preparation for power outage.
Alum Mike LeChay (’85)- Bicycle Pedestrian Advocates
• Get bike lanes on 41.
• 4-foot bike lane would have been horribly expense because you’d need to move pipes.
• 10 foot lanes, not 12 foot lanes, this would
• take 3 lanes and turn it into 2 lanes and a bike lane.
• Asks the NCSA to formally support it, and advocate to get the whole of New College administration to approve it as an institution.
• www.Walkable.org cited as source of information.
• Sara Grimme asks about semi-truck traffic and how this would effect deliveries to New College.
• David Banks asks about the University & 41 intersection. Roundabout is proposed, but regardless: it’ll still be safer than it is now.

• Plurality (37%) wanted it to start at 11.
Sarah Grimme and Laura Mohai- EPC committee update

• Calder will send out an email in 2 weeks, with a status update.
Geneivive Lukhart- Recycling TA
• A lot of people don’t know where to start when it comes to recycling.
• There is no “go-to” person. The job is usually given to other people.

• Field day
• Green energy extravaganza.

• No one on the faculty could sponsor something about Japan.
• Wants to get a group together to practice annunciation and tone of Chinese language.
Max ferretii election systems
• Wants to rewrite the election codes to include approval voting.
o Approval voting is superior to plurality voting in game theory scenarios. But it does have a problem with majority voting problems.
o Absentee voting: overly complicated. Computer validation system, and several other overly complicated things.
o According to the election codes, revisions must be brought to towne meeting
o Someone asks if instant run-off voting would be better. Max says it would be better in some ways, but it would also be overly complicated.
Donita: flash toilet update:
• It is now safe to flush toilets.
Marissa Krumm
• Last required towne meeting.
• Its been a crazy year. (Listed a shit-ton of problems.) But also a lot of good times.
• Reminds everyone: there have been a lot of ups and downs, but a lot of small steps to legitimize student voice and secure our status as arbiters of discussion.
• This year has been a very different year than any other year I’ve been president. Everyone has a different idea of New College: you learn not to listen to it. What makes New College great is the fight for our voice.
• Don’t think the NCSA is your only voice. If you want to paint your dorm rooms, let’s talk about it. Make appointments with administrators to talk about your issues.
Motion to adjourn by Christa. Seconded. Motion passes. At 6:17PM.
